VMAs 2023 winners and performances: Unmissable pictures from music's biggest night

The night belonged to Taylor Swift. The singer enjoyed a monumental history-making night at the 2023 VMAs, tying for most wins in one night with an impressive nine trophies and now second-most overall wins. Her haul brought her total to 23. She now has surpassed Madonna's record, who has 20 VMAs and placed her right behind Beyonce, who has a total of 26 solo wins. In addition, Rap icon Nicki Minaj returned as show emcee and also enthralled the audience with her powerful performance. The stage had an overwhelming amount of performances and winners this year.

Taylor Swift won nine trophies at the 2023 VMAs. Her nine wins were in the categories: Video of the Year, Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop, Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Visual Effects, Show of the Summer, and Album of the Year.
