Started as a TV actor and made a mark in Bollywood Industry
Any SRK fan is aware of his brush with fate, which began on the sets of the TV series ‘Fauji’ in 1989 and continued with shows such as ‘Circus’, ‘Umeed’ and ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’. However, it wasn't until he got his chance with the film ‘Deewana’ that he received his big break and tasted box office success, as well as won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award that year. He rose fast through the ranks, from supporting actor to a leading man, even took the risk of playing the villain, all within the first few years of his career. His portrayal in the film ‘Daar’ was hailed as one of his best till date earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role.
