The beginnings
It's been 29 years since a dashing young man with a centre-parted hair and a dimpled smile stepped onto our screens and stole our hearts. Shah Rukh Khan, who emerged as the King of Hearts, gradually expanded his reign to become Bollywood's ultimate Badshah. Apart from being one of the most well-known actors in the country and the world, Shah Rukh Khan is also one of the highest-paid movie stars. With his family of five, residences all over the world, zig wheels at his service, and the new gadgets, he may be enjoying the life of a king now, but this superstar is still a modest guy from Delhi at heart. This star, who was born and raised in a middle-class house with a father who operated minor business, including a canteen, has experienced the highest highs and lowest lows in just 55 years. His journey, while convoluted, has brought him from Delhi's backstreets to the halls of Oxford University and beyond, and it has been nothing less than inspiring.

Started as a TV actor and made a mark in Bollywood Industry
Any SRK fan is aware of his brush with fate, which began on the sets of the TV series ‘Fauji’ in 1989 and continued with shows such as ‘Circus’, ‘Umeed’ and ‘Wagle Ki Duniya’. However, it wasn't until he got his chance with the film ‘Deewana’ that he received his big break and tasted box office success, as well as won a Filmfare Best Male Debut Award that year. He rose fast through the ranks, from supporting actor to a leading man, even took the risk of playing the villain, all within the first few years of his career. His portrayal in the film ‘Daar’ was hailed as one of his best till date earning him a Filmfare Award for Best Performance in a Negative Role. But it was for the film ‘Baazigar' that he won his first Filmfare Award for the Best Actor.

The King of Romance
Shah Rukh Khan is the real king of romance, but he didn't win this title until the film 'Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge.' His partnership with Kajol not only made the film the longest-running Hindi film in Bollywood history, but it also secured the lead actors' place in the hearts of the audience. Shah Rukh has been in a number of popular romance films throughout the years, including ‘Veer Zara,' ‘Dil To Pagal Hai,' ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai,' ‘Devdas,' and ‘Mohabbatein,' ‘Rab Ne Banadi Jodi,’ 'Om Shanti Om,' among others.

Experimenting new roles
Shah Rukh set out to take the path less travelled by experimenting with his film roles after establishing himself as a romantic hero. SRK is recognised for pushing the edge and being among the first to try something new in the industry, whether it's with his film, in the technical department, or even in marketing. Over the years, we've seen him as a superhero in 'Ra.One,' a star and his own stalker in 'Fan,' and a dwarf in 'Zero.'

A love life that inspires many lovers
Shah Rukh Khan is the heartthrob of Bollywood and the man of every girl's dreams. His attractive on-screen character and engaging off-screen persona has made girls want to be with him and guys want to be like him. This charming actor, on the other hand, is a dedicated man. Shah Rukh Khan fell madly in love with Gauri Chibber, now Khan, as fate would have it. His very own Queen has been by his side through thick and thin, endured all kinds of rumours and conflicts, and they've done it all together.
