Popular music composer Wajid Khan of the Sajid Wajid fame, who passed away, was laid to rest at the Versova cemetery on June 01, 2020. Wajid Khan's wife Maryam Asif Siddiqui attended the last rites of her hubby along with her children. Teary-eyed Sajid Khan was also snapped along with actor Aditya Pancholi during the funeral. “He died of a cardiac arrest," Wajid''s brother Sajid told PTI while confirming that the composer had tested positive for COVID-19. "He was buried around 1 PM. Because of the lockdown and COVID issue, only 20 people were allowed for the funeral. There was police security and barricades in place. Only close family, including brother Sajid and friends from the industry were present," sources told PTI. According to reports, Wajid Khan was suffering from COVID-19. He was also suffering from a kidney problem over the past few years, and was put on a ventilator. Amid lockdown, Wajid along with Sajid had composed songs for Bollywood superstar Salman Khan including the popular track ‘Pyaar karona’, a pop anthem encouraging all to fight the coronavirus.
