According to the complaint, the trouble started nine months ago when Vastavikta, who made her Bollywood debut in the supernatural thriller Eight, moved next to the actor's apartment building, Raj Classique, on Yari Road. Vastavikta claims to be Shahid Kapoor's wife and has allegedly been following him to his shoots and waiting for the actor at the gate of his building.

A family friend told Mumbai Mirror that her mother had even written an apology note to Shahid for Vastavikta's behaviour. After shifting into a house close to Shahid's apartment, she barred her family to interfere in her personal life or even come to her apartment, saying that her husband Shahid does not like it.
