Veteran Hindi film actor Jeetendra was accused of sexually assaulting his cousin, who filed a police complaint 47 years after the alleged incident. The victim made the accusation in a police complaint filed with Himachal Pradesh's Director General of Police.

According to the complaint, the incident took place in Shimla in January 1971, when she was 18-year-old and Jeetendra was 28-year-old. The victim alleged, “he (the actor) had arranged with my now-deceased father to have me join him on the sets where his movie was being filmed.”

“Respondent (Kapoor) brought me to his hotel room which contained two separate beds. Tired from the journey I went to sleep in the far bed," said the complaint. She alleged that the actor later joined the bed for a while and "smelled strongly of alcohol.'' After sexually assaulting her, he left her alone, separated the beds and "we slept silently in the room that night," the victim claimed.

Slamming the charges, Jeetendra's lawyer Rizwan Siddiquee in a statement said, "Foremost my client (Jeetendra) specifically and categorically denies any such incident.” He further claimed that such “baseless, ridiculous and fabricated claims” cannot be entertained by any court of law after a span of almost 50 years.
