Bollywood has had its share of scandals that have landed many celebs behind the bars. Let's take a look at the celebrities who broke the law and paid for it;

One of India's most colourful and controversial politicians, Jayaram Jayalalithaa, has been sentenced to jail for four years on corruption charges in a case that has lasted for 18 years by a special court in Bangalore. The chief minister of of Tamil Nadu was found guilty of amassing wealth of more than Rs 66.65 ($10m) which was unaccounted for. She has to pay a Rs 100 crore ($16m; £10m) fine and resign as chief minister.

Supreme Cour rejected Sanjay Dutt's final appeal against his conviction and sentenced him to five-year imprisonment for the illegal possession of weapons in a case linked to the 1993 Mumbai bombings. Sanjay already spent 18 months in prison before being released on bail. The actor said in a press conference that he will return to jail and will not appeal for pardon.
