The couple was married in 2004, 1,000 high- profile guests from across the world were entertained at the Palace of Versailles in Paris. Pop star Kylie Minogue and Shah Rukh Khan performed at the wedding. The wedding costed $ 55 Million (253 crore).

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and Princess Salama: The couple’s wedding reportedly cost $137 million, making it the most lavish and luxurious wedding in the world. This is a five-day celebration that was declared as holiday in Dubai in the year 1979 to honor their ruler’s wedding. The sheikh visited every town in the emirate by horseback during that week, and fed the locals. During the ceremony, wedding gifts for his bride were delivered by 20 bejewelled camels.It still holds the Guinness World Record for the most expensive wedding.

Vikram Chatwal and Priya Sachdev: New York-based hotelier Sant Singh Chatwal's son Vikram Chatwal and Priya Sachdev a model got hitched on February 18th, 2006. The wedding was known as one of the most luxurious weddings ever in all of India. Bill Clinton and Naomi Campbell was on the guest list along with many other well-known, high-powered people. The wedding took place over 10 days and was spread across 3 cities in India (Mumbai, Udaipur, and Delhi). There were 600 guests from 26 countries who were all retrieved for the event on chartered jets.

Elizabeth Hurley and Arun Nayar: Both had two wedding ceremonies, the tab is bound to be high. Indian textile heir Arun Nayar and actress and model Elizabeth Hurley threw a traditional Anglican wedding in an English castle, followed by a week of celebrations and a Hindu ceremony in Nayar's hometown of Jodhpur, India. Too bad two ceremonies and $2.5 million couldn't make this couple last.

Subroto Roy's sons wedding: Subroto Roy spent a whooping Rs. 552 crores for his sons’ wedding in 2004. Both his sons, Seemanto to Chandni and Sushanto to Richa got married on the same day in the Sahara Village in Lucknow. The glitzy and glamorous wedding saw a bevy of celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai, Anil Ambani, Late Shri Bal Thackeray and Mulayam Singh Yadav.
