Veteran actor Farooq Sheikh, who was a major contributor to the parallel cinema during the 70s and 80s, was born on March 25, 1948 in Amroli, Gujarat. The actor passed away due to heart attack on December 28, 2013. Farooq was in Dubai, apparently for a concert, when he breathed his last.
