From Akshay Kumar to Kareena Kapoor Khan, celebrities express concerns over cyclone Nisarga

Bollywood celebrities including Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit and several others urged people to take precautionary measures from cyclone Nisarga. The city of dreams, Mumbai, which is already struggling with coronavirus pandemic, was hit by a storm. Reportedly, at least three people died. The city and its surrounds are usually sheltered from cyclones -- the last deadly storm to hit the city was in 1948. Authorities had evacuated at least 100,000 people, including coronavirus patients, from flood-prone areas in the states of Maharashtra and Gujarat ahead of Nisarga's arrival. The cyclone ripped roofs off buildings in nearby coastal towns, but appeared to have left the sprawling, crowded port megacity of Mumbai largely unscathed. The storm made landfall near the coastal town of Alibag, around 100 kilometres (60 miles) south of Mumbai, on Wednesday afternoon, meteorologists said. Akshay uploaded a video on Instagram and wrote, “Cyclone Nisarga Precautions. The much-awaited Mumbai rains are here but this year we have an uninvited guest, #CycloneNisarga! In case it does hit us, here are some precautions shared by @my_bmc, we will get through this as well.
