Some lauded her move, while others called it a publicity stunt. Again, the aftermath of Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death caused a chaotic situation. After the CBI, it was the Enforcement Directorate (ED) who got involved in the SSR case and it stumbled up some 'drug chats' of Rhea Chakraborty and other Bollywood celebrities. More and more celebs including Deepika, Shraddha Kapoor and others got dragged into this case. Nearly all of them were let off as the NCB could not find any strong evidence against them.

Mandira Bedi bid a teary farewell to husband Raj Kaushal, who passed away after he suffered a cardiac arrest. At Raj Kaushal's funeral, the actress Mandira was spotted carrying the bier, which is traditionally done by men in India. Pictures of an inconsolable Mandira went viral on social media and fans hailed the actress for breaking the gender stereotype. However, some objected to her choice of clothes that she wore at the funeral and her decision to perform her deceased husband's last rites.

Television actor Pearl V Puri was arrested in June, 2021 and is currently out on bail. He was accused of raping a minor girl on a film set in Vasai in October 2019. Pearl's colleagues in the television industry including Ekta Kapoor and Anita Hassanandani came out in his defense. While the investigation is on, the victim's mother issued an official statement and claimed that Pear is innocent and that the whole case is false.
