Heath Ledger: Heath Ledger played the role of Batman’s arch-nemesis The Joker in The Dark Knight. In order to play the psychopathic and schizophrenic clown, Ledger locked himself in a hotel room for a month to enter the mind of the character. Apparently, after the completion of the film, Ledger suffered a mental breakdown which left him insomniac and exhausted. He was found dead on January 22, 2008 of what was believed to be an accidental overdose.
