Pictures of Utsav Naik, an engineer-turned-actor of Gujarati Cinema

Utsav Naik, an engineer and MBA from the nondescript Kachholi village in Gujarat's Navsari district, will start his journey in the Gujarati film industry with his acting debut in the upcoming film "Aagantuk." The film, released in theatres on February 17, 2023, stars Utsav with the well-known Gujarati film actor Hiten Kumar Netri Trivedi in the lead role and is directed by Naiteek Ravval.

After nearly a year and a half of working together on his filmmaking project, Utsav, a native of the Kachholi village in the Navsari district, caught the attention of director and producer Naiteek Ravval. To complete the filming of Aagantuk, Ravval sought out a fresh actor. Ravval was looking for innocent eyes in the lead character of his film. While this was going on, Ravval decided to have Utsav try out for the main role. Utsav auditioned, and he was chosen.

Utsav's fascination with acting dates back to his childhood days. He has a background in engineering and an MBA. Since 2015, he has worked for a variety of production companies in the roles of a creative head and assistant director. Last year he worked on a web series with Naiteek Ravval that was filmed entirely in Surat and Navsari.

Naiteek Ravval will be working with Hiten Kumar for the second time on the film Aagantuk. Both had previous collaborations in the film Chaar from 2011.

Utsav is doing the second film with director and producer Naiteek Ravval named 'Svaa'. The shoot will start in April 2023.
