Ahead of his performance, singer Anthony Daasan took time off to talk to BT about his journey so far. He said, “It was unbelievable and I did not expect such a response. I want to thank the Kannada film industry, all the Kannada fans, the Tagaru movie team, and, particularly, music director MR Charanraj sir who introduced me to Sandalwood. Shivarajkumar, on whom the song is picturised, is a very interesting and talented actor. Despite being such a megastar, he is simple, and down to earth. Hopefully, I will get to work with him again.”

“After Tagaru, I got to sing a song for Natasaarvabhowma, which, incidentally had Shivarajkumar’s younger brother Puneeth Rajkumar in the lead. I have also sung a song for Arjun Gowda. I am, no doubt, getting more opportunities to sing in Kannada and I am happy to be a part of the industry,” he stated.

Talking about the language barrier, he further stated, “Yes, of course, language is a barrier as of now. Sometimes, while recording songs in, say, Kannada, Telugu or Malayalam, I have trouble getting the pronunciation right. If I take three to four hours to sing a Tamil number, for other languages it takes much longer, but I make sure that I do my job well.”

The singer also mentioned, “My band is Anthony in Party. It is difficult to manage time between singing for films, performing at public events and the band. To top it, I have also been getting offers to act in films. I am trying to do justice to it all by planning and managing everything with a proper schedule.”
