Amsterdam born Indian girl Jyoty Singh reveals how she fulfilled her 'London Dream' as an artist

Born in Amsterdam, this Indian artist currently lives in London. Jyoty Singh's first love has always been the Radio, "Radio is my number one love, my baby, what keeps me going. There are so many times where I really don't have the time or capability to do a show, but I will stay up overnight or prepare on a plane and record in someone's living room rather than missing a show, it means too much to me." She is also the co-founder of Move_Ma is a quarterly publication that talks about artists, genres, movements and places. "It is imperative that we reflect on the lane we choose to inhabit alongside keeping culture fresh and relevant"; Jyoty said. She is also involved in Rinse FM, Mixcloud, Boiler Room and the Labour Party under her belt. In 2012, Jyoty pursued her Masters and did part-time work. The artist starts her day in the gym, during the lunch break she works on her radio show or curating new projects, and in the evening, she keeps herself abreast of new music. She plays at clubs and festivals all over the world, including Good Room (NYC) Music Box (Lisbon), Razzmatazz (Barcelona) and Melt Festival. Jyoty has also hosted DJ workshops for women in Kolkata, India alongside the British Council, and taught a six week course for young British Asian women looking to break into the music industry.
