She discovered her passion quite early in childhood; she started singing in the church and later pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager. Katy launched her first debut studio album under her birth name ‘Katy Hudson’ in 2001. After struggling for years in the industry, she rose to fame in 2008 with the release of her second album, a pop-rock record titled ‘One of the Boys’. ‘Teenage Dream’ was her third album that ventured into disco, which became the first album by a female artist to produce five number-one songs in the US. Katy’s fourth album ‘Prism’ became the first artist with multiple videos to reach one billion views on Vevo. ‘Chained to the Rhythm’ from her fifth album ‘Witness’ broke the record for Spotify's most streamed track by a female artist within 24 hours upon its release.
