Gurugram cycles & runs for water conservation
1/25

People of all age groups participated in a cycling event held in Gurugram. WePlayIndia Foundation, a non-profit organisation that promotes sporting activities, organised the Fit India Cyclothon. The event was organised to demand a bicycle path in Gurugram and create awareness about water conservation. Olympic medallist Yogeshwar Dutt, who was the chief guest at the event, urged everyone to come together and plant as many trees as possible. He also spoke about the concerning level of groundwater in Haryana. The 10km cycling event was held across four separate routes that culminated at Leisure Valley. Apart from cyclists, runners also participated. Fitness trainer Annu Marbaniang, who motivated the participants with her zumba moves, shared, “I was thrilled to attend an outdoor event after two years. Since the situation is better now, we can step out and finally take part in such events.” The cyclothon was organised in association with Paryavaran Sangrakshan Society Gurugram and MCG Gurugram.
