Goans let their hair down at nightlong Christmas parties

It’s that time of the year when Goans don’t hit the nighclubs- but for a change, attend Christmas dances! The traditional balls during this time have indeed seen a makeover, with not just families, but large groups of youngsters attending as well. With music by Goa’s popular bands and local favourite DJs, it’s party time all night at several event venues — most of them open-air spaces around Goa. The most popular party is the Christmas Waltz at Quinta de Valadares in Verna, South Goa, attended by thousands of people! With live music by True Blue and Truly Yours, it was a party that went on till sunrise. Partygoers were seen walking out in the morning, with heels in their hands after an intense night of dancing to bring in the festivities. The Christmas dance at Arpora Hills and Clube Tennis De Gaspar Dias saw a good turnout of people of North Goa dancing to beats of live bands and DJs. Not just Christmas Eve, several event venues like Alva Mar, Taleigao Community Centre and The Emerald Lawns hosted dances on the following night as well.
