Touch-free Ash Wednesday in Goa

As a precautionary measure against the possible spread of coronavirus and to avoid contact, packets of blessed ashes were distributed to the faithful instead of making a sign of the cross on the forehead at Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church in Panaji. Ash Wednesday marked the beginning of the holy Lenten season. Rather then placing palm Ash on parishioners forehead this year due to Covid-19 pandemic, priest from Our Lady of Mary Immaculate Conception Church, Panaji distributed 'Takeaway Ashes' to parishioners on Ash Wednesday.
