Chinatown rings in year of the rabbit with a roaring lion dance

Kolkata's Chinese community ushered in the year of the Rabbit at the Chinese Kali Mandir in Kolkata. While the Chinese New Year kicks off on January 22, the community rang in the festivities early with the 'Know your Cheenapara' programme a week ago. Under the programme community members organised a heritage walk that touched upon and explored the history of the Chinese temples in Tiretta Bazaar followed by a lantern-making competition and carnival.
