In pictures: ‘Pedigree’, a silent thriller by Paul Rupesh

Mumbai: Another silent film is ready to get released on the 35th anniversary of the most famous silent movie in the post-sound era -Kamala Hassan’s ‘Pushpak’. The movie titled ‘Pedigree’ under the banner Indian Exotica has got Chhaya Kadam in the lead. She is known for Andhadhun, Antim: The Final Truth and Gangubai Kathiawadi. Chhaya was last seen in the film 'Jhund' opposite Amitabh Bachchan. ‘Pedigree’ directed by Paul Rupesh is planning to be released on an OTT after one festival calendar year. “Storytelling on just the visual vocabulary especially in a thriller genre was challenging, ”said the director. The romantic drama ‘Alchemist’ with Sanjay Mishra in the lead was Paul’s last film. Chhaya Kadam believes that the story of the avenging mother in ‘Pedigree’ is her career best.
