Manoj Bajpayee applauds city youngsters’ performance on stage

The city-based inter-college competition Firodia Karandak concluded last month with the team of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce (BMCC) taking home the winner’s trophy for their presentation Tum Behte Rehna. While SP College’s Ubermensch came in second place, Dr DY Patil College of Architecture, Akurdi rounded up the top three with their presentation Sambri. The prize distribution of the competition was held last week and saw the presence of acclaimed names from the showbiz industry in attendance. The chief guest of the event, actor Manoj Bajpayee, had some beautiful words to say about the performances. He said, “Theatrical performances have been among the oldest in performing arts and to witness a mix of plays, song and dance performances, among other things, on the stage was a treat for me. Such commitment from youngsters towards the rangmanch is the reason behind it thriving today. I hope similar competitions and initiatives happen across the country.” Besides Bajpayee, the event also saw theatreperson and filmmaker Nipun Dharmadhikari, Savaniee Ravindrra in attendance. Dharmadhikari and Bajpayee also exchanged banter about working with each other.
