Acer has launched what it claims to be the 'world's thinnest' laptop - Swift 7 - in India. Weighing 1.1kg, it is the firm's first-ever laptop thinner than 1 cm, beating the recently launched HP Spectre which measures 1.04 cm.

The Swift 7 will be available at Acer exclusive stores, select multi-brand outlets, and on Flipkart (exclusively), starting at Rs 99,999 from November 18. The laptop was unveiled at a pre-IFA 2016 event in Berlin, along with other convertible laptops in the 'Spin' and 'Swift' series.

The device is powered by a 7th- generation Intel 'Kaby Lake' Core i5 processor clubbed with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB inbuilt storage. It supports dual-USB 3.1 Type-C ports along with an HD webcam. For wireless connectivity, it is said to include up to 3 times faster wireless performance on the back of a 2x2 Wi-Fi 802.11 with MU-MIMO technology.

The Swift 7 sports an all-aluminium unibody with black-and-gold dual tone design. As per the company, the laptop flaunts rounded corners and chamfered edges around the touchpad that adds "just the right touch of depth to its design". It is also equipped with Dolby Audio Premium and Acer True Harmony audio technology for 'clear and bold virtual surround sound'.
