Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has unveiled its One Max phablet with a 5.9-inch display and a fingerprint scanner. The new device will compete against the likes of Samsung Galaxy Note 3, LG Optimus G2 and the upcoming Nokia phablet. The company has not revealed the price of the new model yet, but has announced that it will be launched in Asia and Europe in October and the US in November.

HTC One Max has a Full HD display with 368ppi pixel density. It has the same look as the One and One Mini smartphones, but has a removable back cover. The phablet is powered by a 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB RAM and runs on Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with Sense UI on top.

On the back, One Max sports a 4MP UltraPixel camera. However, unlike the HTC One smartphone, this device does not have optical image stabilization. It comes with 16 and 32GB internal storage options and supports microSD cards up to 64GB. This phablet has dual BoomSound speakers and infrared blaster, but does not have Beats Audio sound enhancement technology.
