‘Nungambakkam’ is based on the infamous Swathi murder case that shook the nation back in 2016. Previously titled ‘Swathi Kolai Vazhakku’, the movie landed in a huge controversy when its first look teaser was released in 2017, after which a police complaint was lodged by Swathi’s father against the movie.
