Oscar-winning sound designer Resul Pookutty has won a Golden Reel Award for the documentary film "India's Daughter". He was nominated in two categories at Motion Picture Sound Editors' 63rd annual Golden Reel Awards for the films "Unfreedom" and "India's Daughter", both of which are banned in India.

Superstar Rajesh Khanna's iconic sea-facing bungalow, Aashirwad, is being demolished by its new owner, Shashi Kiran Shetty, founder and chairman of AllCargo Logistics. The bungalow stands on Carter Road in suburban Bandra and the demolition work is underway for the past two weeks now.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was elected on Sunday unopposed as president of ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) for the seventh consecutive time. BJD returning officer Pratap Keshari Deb made the formal announcement at the party headquarters here. "Patnaik was elected unopposed as president of BJD," he said.

An aerial view of the maiden trial run of Kochi Metro Rail from Muttom yard to Kalamasserry. With an objective to start commercial operations by November 1, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) authorities conducted maiden trial run from Muttom yard to Kalamassery on the elevated track of around 2km. According to the officials, the trail run was conducted at a speed of 10-km per hour. The trial run ended at Pathadippalam and returned safely at the yard in about an hour.
