India will have to renegotiate the tax treaty with Singapore to extend the capital gains tax provisions of the recently-concluded tax pact with Mauritius, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said on Monday. The redrawn Mauritius treaty will trigger a similar amendment in India's tax treaty with Singapore.

Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar on Monday said his government has decided to recommend CBI probe into the murder of Siwan journalist Rajdev Ranjan. Rajdeo Ranjan, Siwan bureau chief of a Hindi daily, was shot dead in a market place in Siwan on May 13. The journalist's family and opposition BJP have demanded a CBI inquiry into it.

Anand Joshi was placed under arrest by the CBI after he allegedly gave unconvincing answers to the questions posed by a team of Special Crime division of the CBI, including those related to disappearance of files related to Sabrang Trust of activist Teesta Setalvad. Joshi is accused of stealing a file relating to Teesta Setalvad's Sabrang Trust and arbitrarily issuing notices to 60-70 NGOs.
