The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) called for an equal citizen law for all on August 21, 2016, adding that the families should decide on the number of children it should produce. Speaking to ANI, RSS ideologue M.G. Vaidya said all rules should be equal for all the citizens of India.

Sunil Bharti Mittal, Chairman of India's largest telecom firm Bharti Airtel, will take home a higher annual pay package of over Rs 30 crore, excluding perquisites, for this fiscal. Mittal - who has been re-appointed as the chairman of the company for another five years - will get a fixed pay of Rs 21 crore per annum and performance-linked variable pay of Rs 9 crore.

Renowned sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik created a sand sculpture at Puri beach of Odisha congratulating badminton player P V Sindhu on winning silver medal in Rio Olympics and also her coach Gopichand. Holding Pakistan responsible for ongoing unrest in the Kashmir Valley, Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on August 21, 2016 said India's unity has been challenged and the forces behind it need to be defeated. Addressing the BJP's 'Tiranga Yatra' in Jammu, the minister said Pakistan was once again at war with India "using new methods" of spreading unrest and inciting violence among masses in the Kashmir Valley.

Messaging platform Hike Messenger has announced USD 175 million fund raising in a new round of funding led by Tencent Holdings and Foxconn Technology Group. This has been the fourth venture capital round and the biggest so far for Hike, which is founded by Kavin Bharti Mittal, the son of Bharti Enterprises chairman Sunil Mittal.
