Jayalalithaa Jayaraman
Jayalalithaa Jayaraman had served for five terms as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. She was the general secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) and was popularly known as Amma. She had reserved 30 per cent seats for women in all police jobs. She had also created women self-help independent groups across Tamil Nadu.

Brinda Karat is a communist politician from India, elected to the Rajya Sabha as a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), the highest decision making body of the party. In 2005, she became the first woman member of the CPI.

Jaya Bhaduri Bachan
Actor-turned-politician Jaya Bhaduri Bachchan is a Padma Shri awardee. Bachchan was first elected in 2004 Rajya Sabha, representing Samajwadi Party. She was re-elected in 2012.
