In the heart of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, lies a one-of-its-kind café and restaurant called ‘Sheroes Hangout Café’. Besides the delicious offerings it has on its menu, what makes this place special is that it is solely run by acid attack survivors. The café has always been very happening and has held various events in the past such as book launches, debates, workshops for women, and music sessions. The café only employs acid attack survivors. It not provides them their daily bread but also serves rehabilitation to them and has become a family.The Stop Acid Attack campaign which was flagged on 08 March 2013, has been the building blocks for Sheroes, a place where these survivors can fulfil their dreams and hopes. The café has another branch in Agra.
