Anti-coup protests intensified in Myanmar as more police officers and civil servants joined the Civil Disobedience Movement against the military rule. Protesters took to street and demanded the release of State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi. They shouted slogans and displayed placards against the Army leadership. Around 20,000 to 30,000 people joined the massive protest in Loikaw, the capital of Kayah region. Most of the civil organisations have united to denounce the military takeover. Last week, Myanmar's military launched a crack down and detained Aung San Suu Kyi, Win Myint and other leaders of National League for Democracy (NLD) government. Military has imposed curfew in several townships and cities to curb the protesters. However, the curfew has failed to deter the people from joining in the protests across the nation.
