Coronavirus: Kashmir Valley reports first positive case

As the number of confirmed coronavirus cases are increasing in India, the Kashmir Valley reported its first positive case on Wednesday. Jammu and Kashmir government spokesman, Rohit Kansal said the first positive case was reported from old city Khanyar area of Srinagar. The man, who was tested positive, has a history of foreign travel. He had arrived in Kashmir on March 16. Rohit Kansal added that the man has been quarantined. The authorities issued an appeal to the people for cooperation. The district Magistrate Srinagar, Shahid Choudhary said the restrictions have been placed on public transport to preempt the spread of novel virus.
