Yet again, Delhi and much of northern, north-western and eastern India awoke today to dense fog, but this time it was accompanied by a nip in the air because humidity levels were up sharply too, touching 89 percent in the Capital.

And yet again, no thanks to extremely rotten visibility, dozens of trains were delayed or cancelled, as were flights from Delhi's IGI airport.

These weather conditions can be attributed to warm easterly winds which resulted in the increase in moisture levels, which in turn led to lower minimum temperatures, which fell to single digits in some parts of northern India.

As of 9 am, as many as 94 trains were running late, two were cancelled and 16 were rescheduled.

With visibility at Delhi airport at an abysmal 150 metres, as many as six international flights and seven domestic flights from the Capital were delayed. One domestic flight was cancelled.
