Manmohan Singh: He is the first Sikh to become the prime minister of India, and was re-elected twice for full five-year term. Singh’s global reputation as a reform-minded economist led him to become the prime minister of India on 22 May, 2004. During his 10-year tenure, Manmohan Singh made several visits to the US, which helped India to form a genuine strategic partnership with the US government. In 2008, the US and India signed a nuclear agreement that would give India access to American nuclear fuel and technology while India will have to allow International Atomic Energy Agency to inspect their civil nuclear reactors.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee: He had resigned after thirteen days of becoming the prime minister of India in the year 1996. Inder Kumar Gujral: He was the prime minister of India for a brief time from April 21, 1997, to March 19, 1998. Gujral’s family played a prominent role in struggle of India’s Independence. During his term, he introduced Gujral Doctrine that spoke about five principles related to foreign policies referring to neighbouring countries. He has been labelled as the most thoughtful and best ‘External Affairs Minister’ that India has had since Jawaharlal Nehru.
