Kashmir Valley receives fresh snowfall

Kashmir valley receives season's fresh snowfall, leading to the closure of Srinagar-Leh road, which connects the region with Ladakh. An 'Orange Colour' warning has been issued by the MeT department for the highter reaches of J&K and Sonmarg-Zojila axis on the Srinagar-Leh road. People were advised to be prepared for more rain and snowfall. According to reports, light to moderate snowfall was reported in many other areas of the valley. The MeT department said that the famous ski-resort of Gulmarg recorded four inches of fresh snowfall while Pahalgam tourist resort in south Kashmir recorded 10 cm of snow.
