India's mass Hindu pilgrimage, the Kumbh Mela is slated to start on July 14, 2015 in Nashik, Maharashtra. There are four destinations — Prayag, Nashik, Ujjain and Haridwar - where Kumbh Melas are organised across India. On July 14, Nashik would be hosting the Kumbh Mela on the banks of Godavari river.

"The Maha Kumbh will generate additional employment opportunities for over 4.5 lakhs workforce in sectors such as airlines & airports, hotels, tour operators and medical & eco-tourism," Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) said in a statement.

The Kumbh Mela is scheduled between July 14 to Sep 25, 2015, with the Shahi Snaan on Aug 29, Sep 13 and Sep 25. Nashik-Trimbakeshwar is among the four places in India where the Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years.
