India's President Ram Nath Kovind conferred the Padma Awards for the year 2022 at a ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The awards are given in three categories— Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri. This year, India's first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, who passed away in a chopper crash last December was among the prominent personalities who were honoured with the Padma Awards.
