Sangetsar Lake: About 35 kilometres from Tawang, there is an unknown bio-diverse paradise named after the captivating Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. This lake, formed by mantle shocks near the Indo-China border, has become one of Northeast India's most fascinating and unique destinations. This gorgeous site, also known as Sangetsar Tso, Sangetsar Lake, or Madhuri Lake, will undoubtedly remind you of Vietnam's famous Ha Long Bay.
Bomdila: Located in Tawang's district, this lovely Himalayan location is crowned by the holy Gori Chen peak. The roaming Buddhist monks and the equally charming Buddhist monastery add to the magic of Bomdila, which is surrounded by little glacier streams. You can even trek all the way up to the exhilarating Gori Chen peak.
Tenga Valley: The Tenga river flows 6500 feet above sea level, surrounded by snow-capped mountain peaks and even better grasslands in the summer. Although the entire valley is a military base camp, you may gain access with proper clearance, and after you've explored it, you'll want to stay. During sunset, the Tenga Valley viewpoint offers a golden picture of the panorama of the hills, as well as the silvery stream of the river below.
Sela Pass: The heavenly Sela Lake forms the crux of the Sela Pass, which is generally covered in snow throughout the year and is located between Tawang and West Kameng region. The tunnel to Sela Lake and the hiking experience lead you extremely close to the lower regions of the Eastern Himalayan ranges, resting at an altitude of 4170 metres. In fact, many mountaineering parties begin their journey from here.
Bum La Pass: The glacial Bum La Pass serves as a crossroad for India and China. It's around 37 kilometres from Tawang and remains frozen all year. The location has historical significance and is also the same place where the Dalai Lama left Tibet and entered India.
