Modi had announced last month on Twitter that he was looking forward to "sourcing uranium fuel for our nuclear power plants" during his visit to Canada. Modi's trip is the first bilateral visit to Canada by an Indian prime minister since Indira Gandhi in 1973.

this visit, our two countries will resume commercial cooperation in
civil nuclear energy after decades. This will be a defining symbol of
