Wildfire rages through Nagarahole Reserve

A massive wildfire destroyed vegetation spread in several acres in the forest area of Nagarahole Tiger Reserve in Mysuru. However, the flames were extinguished by the firefighters within some hours. The fire department was informed about the inferno around 3 pm at Antharasanthe range of the tiger reserve. Some forest personnel along with firefighters and field staff rushed to the spot and doused the flames. The strong wind spread the wildfire that engulfed the dry vegetation. While talking to media, the range forest officer Siddaraju said that the fire was doused with the help of field staff and firefighters, who rushed to the spot on time.
