People having fun time during the the Batalla de Vino (Wine Battle) in Haro, northern Spain. Every year thousands of people celebrate the day of the patron saint of the town, San Pedro, with a trek to the mountainous crags of Bilibio. Following a mass in honour of the fifth century hermit, St Felices de Bilibio, a giant battle ensues with participants using any method available to soak each other with cheap wine.

Fiesta de Santa Marta de Ribarteme: Also known as the Near Death Festival, this celebration is held annually in the town of Las Nieves, Spain. Hundreds of people attend mass in honor of Saint Marta de Ribarteme, the Patron saint of resurrection. Some people who have had a near death experience are carried in coffins.
