Coronavirus death toll crosses 114,000 across the world

The coronavirus death toll crossed 114,000 across the world after 5,399 more people died due to the pandemic. However, the per day Covid-19 fatalities in France and Italy declined as both countries recorded 315 and 431 deaths on Sunday respectively. Last Friday, the United States became the first country to record more than 2,000 coronavirus deaths in one day, with 2,108 fatalities. There are more than five lakh confirmed cases. The pandemic paralysed the American economy as factories, manufacturing units and other services are closed due to contrywide lockdown. According to a report, the number of Americans seeking unemployment benefits in the last three weeks surpassed 16 million.
