Born in Lahore in Pakistan on January 27, 1952, she held LLB degree from Punjab University. In 1980, she was called to the Lahore High Court and to the Pakistan Supreme Court in 1982. She later went on to become the first woman to serve as the president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, The Dawn reported.
