At least 20 people were killed in the airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition in Sanaa, the capital city of Yemen. According to reports, around 14 people died when fighter jets struck the home of a high-ranking Houthi military official, including his wife and son. The airstrikes were in retaliation for a drone and missile attack on coalition partner the United Arab Emirates. At least three people were killed in the attack that was claimed by the Iran-aligned Houthis. The coalition also intercepted eight Houthi drones launched towards Saudi Arabia. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres "expresses his concern and deplores" the coalition airstrikes, his spokesman Stephane Dujarric. "The secretary-general again calls upon all parties to exercise maximum restraint and prevent further escalation and intensification of the conflict," Dujarric said. The Saudi-led airstrikes aimed at strongholds and camps in Sanaa belonging to the Houthi group. Abdullah Qassim al-Junaid was the senior Houthi military official whose home was struck by the fighter planes. He was the former head of the Houthis' aviation college.
