Either the Badminton Association of India (BAI) is expecting that the country's top most badminton stars, Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu, would not be among the world top-10 come September or they are prepared for the fact that the two players would not be part of the business end of the second edition of the Indian Badminton League (IBL).

Nothing else can justify the BAI's decision to schedule the second edition of the IBL from September 30-October 15 as it overlaps with the Denmark Super Series Premier, which begins in Odense on October 14.

According to BWF's Players Commitment Regulations, it is mandatory for all players ranked among the top-10 in world ranking to play in the Super Series Premier unless injured.

Not only that, the players have to be available for promotional activities two days before the start of the competition if the organizers request so and the promotional activities are mandatory even for players who are skipping the tournament due to injury.

It will not be possible for Saina and Sindhu to pull out of the Denmark Open citing injury since they would be playing in the IBL. It may be recalled that Saina was fined $5000 in 2010 when she skipped the promotional activities before the BWF SuperSeries Masters Finals final due to ankle injury.
