Spot-fixing shame: Indian Premier League saw its biggest controversy when Delhi Police exposed a spot-fixing and betting scandal. An Indian Test player, son-in-law of the BCCI president and a co-owner of a team among many were accused of wrongdoings. PS Sindhu's historical feat: World number 12 PS Sindhu, playing in her maiden World Championships, notched up stunning victories against two Chinese players in the run-up to the semifinals but she failed to out it cross Ratchanok, going down 10-21, 13-21 in a 36-minute women's singles match. However, she created history by becoming the first Indian woman singles player to ensure a medal at the World Badminton Championships.
