Dutee Chand may not compete in Germany & Ireland due to delay in visa process

Olympic athlete Dutee Chand, may not be participating in the upcoming races in Germany and Ireland as the sprinter does not have a visa yet. Reports suggest that Dutee applied for the visa only a few days prior to the event. Germany and Ireland were originally not a part of the schedule submitted to Athletics Federation of India. Dutee wrote to the Ministry of External Affairs of India saying, "Want to participate in @iaaforg tournaments in Ireland & Germany on 13 and 19 Aug respectively. My Visa formalities have not been completed due to some reasons. Request @DrSJaishankar & @MEAIndia to intervene at the earliest and help me participate in the race.🙏🙏🙏" When TOI contacted Dutee for further information, she said, "Yes, we had applied late for visas and there's some delay. But I am not aware of where exactly is the delay. KIIT's director sports, Gaganendu Dash, would tell you more about it. All I know is that these tournaments are important for me."
