Current world no. 1 Rafael Nadal has decided to skip the Asian leg of the ATP tour in order to rest his knee. The injury occurred during his match against Juan Martin del Potro at the US Open In Flushing Meadows. It turned out to be a tendinitis in the right knee. This would automatically escalate Novak Djokovic chances of the ending the year at the top. Nadal gave a statement about his withdrawal saying, "I had to retire from the semi-finals of the US Open and this past Monday I was with doctors in Barcelona to review the situation with my knee. While my knee problems are nothing new, I have decided together with my medical and technical team not to participate in the Asian tour to recover."
