Novak Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev in the 2023 US Open final. He won 6-3, 7-6 (5), 6-3 to claim his fourth title at Flushing Meadows and equalled tennis great Margaret Court's record 24 Grand Slam singles titles in the Open era. This was the Serbian star's return to the US Open after missing last year's tournament due to the federal government requiring foreign visitors to be vaccinated against COVID-19. With his victory at the US Open, he has returned to the World No.1 spot in the live ranking from the ATP.
