The two have been friends for a while now, after which they started dating. They felt it was time to settle down together. The army kids, who were introduced through common friends (also from this industry), hit it off after their second meet. Says Shonali, "I've always had two rules in life, one: never to marry a Bengali and two: never to marry someone from my industry; both of which I will be breaking this February."

Shonali has confirmed that she'll be getting married in three different rituals. They have planned a private wedding affair in Kerala on February 9 and 10, followed by a wedding in Delhi on February 16 (where her parents live) and a wedding in Mumbai on February 24 (where Shiraz's parents are based).
