Anant Chaturdashi 2023: Know significance and rituals of Ganesh Visarjan
Ganesh Chaturthi which started on September 19, 2023, is continuing and the 10-day festival will end with Ganesha Visarjan on Anant Chaturdashi.
Ganesh Visarjan involves the immersion of Lord Ganesha's idols into water bodies, typically takes place on the last day of the Ganesh Chaturthi festival, which lasts for 1.5, 3, 5, 7 or 11 days, depending on the traditions followed by the devotees.
Anant Chaturdashi falls on the last day of the ten-day-long Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Devotees worship Lord Ganesha with all the rituals and bid farewell with huge pomp and procession. Along with this, Lord Vishnu is also worshiped and Raksha Sutra is tied.
Chaturdashi tithi of Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month will start on September 27, 10:18 pm and will end on September 28, 6:49 pm. This means the festival of Anant Chaturdashi will be observed on a large scale on September 28.
